UPDATE FORMT HE SUPERINTENDENT OFFICE DECEMBER 11TH, 2020 Hi Blue Valley Families, Thank you for the feedback on the survey for allowing us to to take December 18th off as a day fo celebration instead o fan early release day. The community input was 96% in support of it and 4% not in support. After careful consideration looking at school policy, required learning days and community input, I am excited to share that FRIDAY DECEMBER 18TH WILL BE A DAY OFF FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF! The basketball game that night will be played as scheduled. More details about that will come from coaches and building administration as the day gets closer. Everyone in the school community has done a terrific job of keeping our schools open the entire semester with some hiccups here and there but everyone has pitched in and made it happen. It hasn't been easy but we pulled together and did it! I want everyone to take a break, relax and enjoy time with your family. While gathering with family over the holiday, please remember to follow safety procedures to stop the spread of the virus. I know it is challenging to wear a mask and socially distance when around family but if we want to open the doors in January, we need everyone healthy to do it. It is a great day to be a RAM!!!

Update - December 10th, 2020 Hi everyone, I just wanted send out a quick reminder that tomorrow is Fun Friday!!! Our theme is " Day at the Beach". Although when this theme was decided it seemed like a good idea at the time. Now, the weather has decided not to cooperate with us and it is supposed to be cold and raining tomorrow. However, this might just bring that spark of warmth we need to push us through to next week. All staff and students are encouraged to participate. It's a great day to be a RAM!!!

UPDATE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT 11-17-2020 4;20 P.M. Hello RAM Families, I wanted to update you on a rumor I heard circulating about the community. We have been very fortunate to have been in school up to this point. The rumor that we are going remote before or after Thanksgiving at this point is NOT TRUE! Other area school districts have opted to do so but we have not. We will be talking at the December BOE Meeting about plans for remote learning should we need to do this. I, like many of you, would prefer to stay in school in the buildings as long as possible. It allows parents to work and kids to learn in the best environment for learning. However, should we have to go remote we will try to give as much notice as possible so that families can prepare. This decision is not taken lightly and affects me as well. My children go to school in our district. I know how difficult it is to remote teach and learn remotely. I want my children in school. With that being said, with the holidays quickly coming up, many of us have plans to celebrate with families. We urge you to remember to wear a mask even when not popular to do so. To socially distance and to use hand sanitizer as much as possible. With the surge in positve cases since Halloween, I can only imagine what will happen after Thanksgiving and Christmas. If we all do our part we can keep our school doors open, continue to have athletic's and other activities, and keep our kids in school. Our community is blessed to care about and look after each other. I am thankful to be able to serve our community! GO RAMS!!!

UPDATE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENTS OFFICE 11-4-2020 Hi Blue Valley Families, We were contacted today about a positive case at the high school. If you were at the High School between October 26th and October 28th You may have been exposed to COVID. The case has not been at school since last Wednesday, the 28th. We are collecting the list of potential close contacts and making contact with them. Then turning it over to the health department for follow up. Please monitor your high school students for symptoms of COVID. Fever above 100.4 Cough Headache Sore throat Loss of taste or smell If you or someone experience symptoms please contact your doctor for testing then notify District Office at 785-293-5256. Because of the Halloween celebrations over the weekend, it is important to also remember to monitor yourself and each other for symptoms. Many people were not wearing masks and potentially having close contact with others. We are trying to be proactive in our approach as we move into the colder months and holiday season. In order to keep our doors open, we need help from everyone to wear masks and social distance. I know it is difficult to do sometimes and with the holidays coming up it will be even more of a challenge. We will continue to inform the community as we are made aware of positive cases and possible exposures. Please do your part and help us keep schools open and activities moving forward. Thanks you for everything you do to support our staff and students. GO RAMS!!!
